Tips for Accessible Communication and Rights-based Approach
18 April 2023
Having accessible and inclusive communication ensures that all individuals, regardless of their limitations in seeing, hearing, understanding, or moving, can access information on equal terms. Accessible communication should be present at any time and in any context, for example: in drafting emails, disseminating internal communications, preparing documents, social media posts, organizing meetings and/or virtual events, creating audiovisual materials, digital publications, web design, etc.
This booklet aims to contribute to the construction of more inclusive and accessible communications that incorporate the disability approach from a human rights perspective. Through a series of practical recommendations aimed at incorporating minimum accessibility criteria, this document seeks to promote the right of persons with disabilities to access information on equal terms with others.
